Steep canyons of man-made madness
humanity's inescapable facade
jailed in brick and glass
forever entombed in
my prison of
civil society
eulogized in a
disappearing
sky

It impresses me when a dark message is carried with beautiful language. Excellent piece. Thanks for tipping us toward Crowe's creativity.

Great interpretation of the image. It does look like something a prisoner might see in confinement. Really like that your poem questions civility.
whew...way to break it off in 160...eulogized in a disappearing sky...brilliant....
brilliant love the poem thank you reflects how this pic makes me feel
beautiful.
Incredible first effort ~ what a message in so few words. The photo was a spot-on accompaniment. Hope to see much more from you.
Here's mine: The Visit
I can just feel the weight of the buildings bearing down and blotting out the world. Thanks for playing along with the Sunday 160.
You did a phenomenal job for your first 160. A great description for that photo too. Yay for you!
Nice interpretation of the image....
Ugh, glad that that is not where I have to call home. I need more sky than that myself.I am sensing that you do too.
Thanks to everyone for the positive and supportive comments. Enjoyed this one very much.
While I read, I could almost feel those disturbed spaces. Beautiful poem.
I like how constricting the poem becomes, not just in form, but in meaning as well. Quite claustrophobic and well written.
You don't sound like loving life in most of your poems. There is sort of resignation in it.No emotion.Coldness

Impressive shape and the words !! Well said !
Matt,
On the contrary, I love life very much and I think there's a lot of emotion in this and my other poems. Horror and psychological themes have always played into my fiction writing and my poetry. Thanks for your comment.
Deep words Eileen! Loved the treatment that was dark, intense and whimsical..
